A letter to our service members and their families.
Thank you so very much for your dedication and discipline. All of you enlisted, veterans and our young people stepping in, thank you…. To all of the family, thank you. To all of the community members who support our Military, thank you.
My passion for our Military runs deep. Finding this Cane Corso in Kansas changed me. He thinks like me, he acts like me, when I’m mad he rolls his eyes, when I move around the farm 100 mph, he is either by my side or ALREADY knows my routine so sits where I will return. There are not words to explain his loyalty.
It would be an honor for your to consider allowing one of my pups to change your life. I am surviving PTSD, I am also very rigid, to put it gently :) and HE MAKES ME SMILE, they make me softer, more kind, more relaxed and he understands my pain. NO, I DON’T KNOW HOW. I’m not some magician who is hiding training secrets from the world. What I do know, I know how to train service dogs. High five I’m screwed up? I own it. If you haven’t accepted the wounds, they can’t become scars, and chicks dig SCARS. I see mine, not as something that will ever go away, but it hurts less, bothers me less when people “stare”, so to speak. Internal scars still show and that’s the thing I think is where acceptance is. I’M NOT CHEERFUL AND NICE ALL THE TIME. When I stopped pretending to be so, no one else liked it, but I could breathe again. I believe the Corso, Kash, helps people read ME better. If I’m ok, he’s ok. That’s a shirt I need to make. It’s the truth. People can read the dog better than they can read you or me. Takes the load off and let’s me just be me. I don’t have to be on task, point or swivol. Not when he is with me.
If you are in need, I am always here. I have two horses that have done the same thing. A bull, same thing… I just can’t take them places! Bull has no recall command either sooooo that could get interesting.
